Pictures of my FB with 17x9 on it...

Well not really ON it, but mocked up. The wheels where sitting on the hub surface to give me an idea of what it would look like and suprisingly fit VERY well. these rims are 17x9 +20 offset, has about a inch clearance from the spring and sits flush with the fender.

From what i gather of this fitment is that 17x9 +20 fits great (or 15-16 size rims). Didnt know if anyone tried this, so i figured i would throw the idea out there for you wheel fitment guys...btw, tire size is 255/45/17 so if you ran a 235, and rolled the fenders, it would be possible to somewhat slam the car, and not worry about tire rub...btw, im a flushness junky

anywho..im a picture whore...so anyone interested to see what 5zigen 17x9 +20's look like on a flat black FB :D

sorry for the fuzzy pictures, didnt realize i had my camera in close mode. anywho also sorry for the somewhat large pictures...

btw, reason for mock up was to see how well 9" would fit, as im getting 15x10's made for the rear and 15x9's for the front...

Going with any fender flares? or leaving it stock. Some states, I think they will pop you for that.

driftking777 08-09-06 01:09 AM

pop me for the stance of the 17x9's or the 15x10's? and yes im going with fender flairs...from CP racing.

if you have any sort of torque those tires would be flat very quickly on the street from the wheel well cutting into them

I hope it works...

15x7 just aren't cutting it for me with 26x8.5" slicks

rx7gslse 08-09-06 10:18 AM

I suspect you'll have a lot more issues with the 9" width up front than the 10" in the back..

keep us updated on how it works out ;)

OneRotor 08-09-06 10:35 AM

let's see a shot from the side of it mocked up

driftking777 08-09-06 11:56 AM

you asked about a side mock up shot...i got that too :D and somewhat of a mock up of my custom exhaust...in which im going to have to cut the rear bumper some to make fit like im wanting....and to..whoever mentioned the 17x9's getting cut by the fenders...just get some stiff coilovers...problems solved...:D

EDIT: sorry about the bad side shot...however its all i got :wallbash:

Andrew64 08-09-06 12:00 PM

Lol, you have the same front bumper problem that I do.

rxtasy3 08-09-06 12:28 PM

unless ur planning on doing some sort of fab work, those front coilovers in that pic wont work.

steve84GS TII 08-09-06 02:07 PM

Geez, how much clearance do you have to the inside wall?

I have 17X9" in the back too, and with a widebody! I get inner fender wall rubbage when I go up my driveway diagonally.Blame that on our solid rear axles rocking around......

BigJim 08-09-06 02:36 PM

4 bolt != 3 bolt, have fun with that

driftking777 08-09-06 03:46 PM

haha... you guys are funny, yes i realize the coilovers arent direct bolt on...duh. Im fabricating something that might be used as a tool in the future for people that want a better option for the front suspension...and possibly cheaper.

As for the clearances of the sidewalls agains the inner fender, there was about a 1" gap between the fender well and the sidewall, so if you run a lower profile tire you will not have tire run...and this is with a 17x9 +20 offset...so if you run a 16 or less diameter wheel with the same width and offset you'll have no issues what so ever if you run a low pro tire.
