Performance Lowering Springs?

Hi everyone, I was wondering what you all had in terms of lowering springs for your first gens. My roomate just bought wheels and tires for his '85 GSL, and springs are the next things to put on after the holidays. I'm just doing a little research for him in the meantime.
He's looking specifically for a 1-2 inch drop, and willing to spend around $200 for a kit. If you guys could let me know what you have, prices and even pics, that would be awesome! Thanks! :bigthumb:

Theres a few choices. What kinda use will the car see?

Hey,

The search function is your friend! :p: search for threads in the 1st gen section about suspension and you'll have more info than you can shake a stick at!

near 1" drop is common, 2" is practically unattainable. If you're really looking for that "Slammed" look you can kiss drivability goodbye, IF you can find someone who'll make springs wtih that drop. 1" though are good performance springs. RacingBeat has an awesome set, Eibach and Suspension Techniques also sell performance springs.

I'm running RacingBeat springs with KYB GR-2 shocks and struts and really like it. It's a good balance between performance and comfort.

RacingBeat ones are $150 for the four, plus shipping.

Thanks for the replies. The car is a daily driver, but it already has some performance mods done to it. I think he'll be happy with just lowering the car a little. It won't see the track anytime soon, so I think a drop of 1" is good.
Thanks for letting me know about the search tool! I just started this whole forum process, so I am still learning every time I am on here. Thank you

All your cars look nice! Keep up the good work. :bigthumb:
Where did you get the front bumper for the 7?

Correct me if I am wrong but I heard most "lowering" springs dont do shit for handling. Any truth in this Carl?

i have the rb springs, the are ok , but the back does not vary from stock, i have friend with the suspension techniques and they lowere the car more evenly. My opinion go STs all the way!

ST's are weaksauce. it feels like cut springs. RB much better but i don't like their prices.

you really wanna save money.. go TMC's or tokico springs. it's a bit much stiffer than RB's also. eibach wouldn't be a bad choice neither
