Overflowing Holley 465
 

I have lowered my fuel pressure to 1.5-2 psi and the carb still over flows into the ports and out of the primary bowl vent hole. I've taken the carb off and cleaned it and the float bowl vavle seats look brand new. And not to mention i just bought this carb. maybe a year and a half ago. Any info. on what could be making this happen??:scratch:

Have you set your float level correctly?
Is there trash keeping the needle valve open?

Do you have brass or impregnated cork floats? Or do you have that weird plastic kinda floats?

Have you weighed your floats to make sure they are actually floating and aren't full of gasoline?

Reset fuel pressure to 5.5 psi, reset float level. Problem persists then remove the front bowl, remove float and see if it floats in a trough of fuel or water. If no, replace float, if yes replace needle and seat.

I had the same problem last year. It need up being trash in the bowl. Make sure you check your fuel filter(s) for trash also as it might happen again.

I have checked the needle and seat. Perfect. Cleaned and checked to see if the floats filled themselves. But they're perfect. There wasn't any trash but im going to check again. I've set the floats over and over again. I do have the side pivot plastic floats.

I have an old 465 that ran the fuel rail setup that had center pivot brass floats that worked perfect when i took the carb off. Thought about maybe running them?
