Opinion on Springs for GSL-Se
 

I've been looking at both Suspension Technics and the Racing beat. Please give me your opinions. My biggest concern is that the springs will be too short and the mounting will be too loose.

that should not be a problem. your stock springs have probably sagged to a point where they are shorter than "lowering" springs. the ST's are the softest of the aftermarket bunch and therefore give the best ride while the RB are stiffer. What you want depends on your personal taste, what , if any, type of racing you do, and the road conditions in your area.

I have used both ST and Eibach coils, both are good, with the ST's a little too soft in front causing the car to dive more than the Eibach's. My last 3 7's have had Eibachs.
and its true about the sagging old springs, I've seen several cars that are lower than mine on stock springs.

My 7's body and springs only have 60,000 miles on them. I use the car as my daily driver back and forth to work. I was looking for something a little stiffer, but still comfortable a a daily driver. Per Mazdatrix, the ST's are the only ones that are progressive at 85/120 where as the RB are 145, and the eibach are rated at 171 compared with a stiffness of 100 for new stock front springs. I'm leaning toward the ST's except that their rear springs are softer then Stock.

I am facing the same delema..my "7" has 80,000 miles and I want/need new springs and shocks..but do not want to lower the car and don't want a harsh ride...see if you know somneone who has new springs and shocks and seeif they will let you test drive. then you can see if you like them....I know someone local who said they would give me a ride and see. I also have a buddy who got the eibach but has yet to put them on...I may wait for him to so so and try his car...I am in no real rush myself....i want to make the right decision....I have pretty much decided on koni shocks and struts but may???consider tokico...anyone have ideas on shocks?? what do you like and why.....thanks.....cjf

Just get some new stock springs and performance aftermarket shocks... that's about as stiff as you'll want to go if you want something "comfortable".

What about Tokico springs? I'm buying Tokico Illuminas next week and I'd like to just get the package at rx7.com, but I haven't heard anything, good or bad, about Tokico springs. Are these a stiff spring?

what about KYB's?
 

What about KYB's --- Shocks, struts, etc... good or bad idea?

I decided to order a set of Suspension Technics Spring to use with my Koni shocks. I drove a friends GSL-SE that had the Racing beat springs and they were a little stiffer then I wanted. I did notice that his car was no lower then mine, but Mazdatrix show the RB as only lowering the car by 3/8". I post after I install them to let everone know my impression.

chances are that your springs are really warn out..

Get the Eibach's You will never look back;)

KYB dampners are supposedly only good OEM replacements, not a performance upgrade. Tokico HP's or "blues" are the best (cheapest) deal out there.
