OK to pour marvel mystery in carb

Is it true to pour Marvel Mystery oil in carb for rx-7 that's been sitting awhile to lube apex seals?? What else to do or check for poor performance due to car not being used for awhile?

search for ATF treatment.

Yes, it's a good idea. ATF, MMO or any light oil will do the trick. The oil on the seals dries out over time and the engine won't make good compression. Remember, it's going to smoke a little when you start it ;-)

I just bought a 7 last week that sat for 2 years, so I was in the same boat. I don't know how long your car sat, but here's what I did:

Drained bad gas
Flushed fuel lines
Flushed coolant system
Oil change
Cleaned carb out real well (especailly the floats)
put a can of 44k in the tank

That all I can think of.

The car is running great now. (After I replaced some defective needle valves)

Let us know how it turns out.

Yes there is a thread archived in the 2nd gen section. I don't know what happened to the guy who started it though.
