Oil pump question

Will a TII oil pump fit on a PRE '86 engine? I forgot if anyone has done this. I know some people use the GSL-SE pump on 12a's, but I don't know about if TII ones are compatable with the 1st generation.

Yes they should fit just fine.

Thanks for the reply. I am looking for more flow volume

Can I ask why? Are you running looser clearances then average?

higher rpm. Seems to drop to 60psi at sustained rpm above 7500rpm(top speed run), I have a 85psi regulator. On a bridgeport so you know. And, I can get a oil pump from a TII for free if I want and I don't have access to a GSL-SE oil pump which would probably be up to the job.

Ofcourse we all know the stock gauge is not completely accurate, but I'd still like to know I have a pump capable to make the volume to keep the pressure high at high rpm were its most important. 10psi for every 1000rpm is a universal standard.

Does anyone else using a 85psi regulator have any gauge issues were the pressure is a little low at times occanually?

Rob @ Pineapple told me you should have 10psi of oil per 1000 rpms. You really should upgrade to the 115psi race regulator, 17.5mm oil pump, -10 braided lines and 3 window main bearings.

My 74 repu puts out 71psi at cold idle and at warm idle 30-40.

Wouldnt that be less than 10 PSI at an idle then? I idle at ~750-900 RPMs (depends on if the cable is sticking or not, lol), and Im sure that most people around here with stock port engines idle about the same, and we should all be getting around 30 PSI at an idle...And if it was 10 PSI for every 1000 RPMs, would that only be like 30 PSI at 3000 RPMs? So like a highway cruise at 60 (damn close to 3K RPMs) should only read 30 PSI? Im sure most people here are used to seeing around/over 60 PSI on the highway, I know I am. Somethings fishy about that to me :). Im sure Rob knows his stuff, but there was some miscommunication somewhere...
