oil pressure ups and downs...83 RX7

Is it normal for the the oil pressure to vary from 30 at idle and go to 60 Cruising down the highway ? SC

Yes.

Yes and it can vary quite a bit, mine has went as higher as 70-80psi and higher revs on both the stock and my aftermarket mech gauge.

30 at idle is not bad at all.....

I wouldn't give much weight to the actual numbers the stock gauge is giving you, as all the ones I've personally seen have been horribly inaccurate.

I wish my oil pressue was that low. My car idles at 120. Lol. Oil filters don't last too long..

Mine idles at 55. Thats with 10w40. I dropped down from 20/50 cause the pressure seemed plenty high to me. 120 @ idle ...... I'd hate to see it @ 9 grand or when its cold.

Thanks for the info. I have 10W30 in it. SC

That's why I don't rev it cold.
And yeah, that's with 5W-20. Putting a stock regulator back in soon.
