oil pressure

my oil pressure guage is not working and i dont wana have a bad oil pump and destroy my car what should i do to make sure my oilpump is working??

Install an aftermarket secondary gauge; mechanicals are more reliable, electrical are easier, both aer more accurate than the stock gauge.

Us SA owners never had one to begin with. We had to rely on temperature... that's why I installed my own oil guages.

Check the wire that connects to the sending unit. Directly under the oil filter.

how hard is it to install one of the after market guage's??

The only hard part is figuring out where to mount the gauge in the cockpit.

For the aftermarket sending unit, Racing Beat sells an adapter that goes under the oil filter.

But first check the stock sender is connected/working, like 74RX4 said. The stock gauge isn't that accurate but you'll know if your oil pump is working.

so if i wer to install a after market would i take off the oil pressure sending unit and put the after market one in the spot????

Look at the link that j_tso posted. That part is sandwiched between your oil filter. The one I have has 2 drilled and tapped npt fittings that can be used to hook up a mechanical oil pressure guage and feed my turbo.

You just need to figure out where to mount the guage and how you want to run the line... you can use a pillar type guage holder.

You can prolly find all you need on e-bay. Just leave the stock sender in place if you go this route.
