Oil Pressure
 

I was wondering if it is normal for the oil pressure to drop at idle and increase when the rpms go up. I believe it runs about 60 when the car moving but when I come to a stop it seems to drop to about 40ish. The motor, 85 12a, was rebuilt by KDR and only has 500 miles on it. Thanks, Vic

60 @ about 3000 RPM is normal
should be ~30 at idle, that's normal too

you can't really trust these readings, the oil pressure sending unit on these cars is grossly inaccurate, mine is all over the place, so i ignore it. i get about 60 while cruising and sometimes it drops to almost zero at idle, but the car is fine.

All cars do this, whether is be a Mazda or a Yugo. Your pressure seems great. :)
