oil pan

im asking because im not currently AT my car and cannot look under it to see and wont be for a while, but...

is it possible to get the oil pan off of a 85 gsl-se without pulling the engine?

i looked under it last night (without the jack stands under it) and it looked to be a very very tight fit...

i have a leaking gasket i need to repair but dont want to have to pull the entire engine for this... is this possible?

yes it is possible. you must remove one side of your idler arm which is bolted by 2 14mm bolts.
heres an animation https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hlight=oil+pan

on that page...

good luck with that.

Yes, but there is one bolt on the pan that you will need to use a combination wrench on as a socket will not fit in between the cross member and pan.

Like boyee, said, just un-bolt the idler arm from the frame.

I just did my pan, and no more leaks. FYI when you do the pan seal it is a good idea to replace the rubber O-ring on the oil level sensor. (the one with three 10 mm bolts on the side of the pan).
