Oil fill Neck Sludge
 

My oil fill neck has a white paste down the sides, and i also noticed alot more water and condensation on the inside of the actual cap, I put a k&N breather on the neck about 2 months agot and everything was running fun, and there was no condensation or water in the nack or on the cap at all untill now. Any ideas?

As peejay so eloquently put it, its called lungmustard. :D Its from an improper crankcase ventilation system. It happens when guys indiscriminantely rip oof the rats nest and dont make proper provisions for a proper breather. Shame on you, the instructions are not only in the tutorial for emissions removal, but also peejay has posted on how to use an off the shelf pcv valve to make it work.

i'm sorry for my ignorance, but basically i should connect my oil filler neck to a vacume nipple underneth the shudder valve, and give the other nipple on the middle portion a free air source, such as the air cleaner or small k & N filter?

RXcetera mentioned in the old forum that connecting the oil filler neck to the intake manifold is a very bad idea.

Logically wouldn't misty oily air be sucked into the intake manifolt, and then into the engine?

I have seen engines swallow alot worse :)

What's the problem with that? All it will do is lower the octane rating by a minute fraction. I believe that's how the standard setup is on Australian cars anyway. At least it was on mine.

The nipple on the intermediate housing went to a tee piece to which the fuel tank vent was also connected and then to the pcv valve in the manifold. The nipple on the filler neck went to the charcoal canister. I got rid of the charcoal canister and slapped one of those little K&N's on there. Worked fine for almost 3 years.
