Oil cooler questions.
 

I did a search and found nothing.

I have a little problem. I have an 82 GSL and I managed to get a fairly new 85 radiator. It is taller than the original by about the size of the oil cooler. I need to either remove the oil cooler or extend the hoses to reach out in front of the radiator and mount it in front. Would you suggest removing the oil cooler or moving it forward.

Why would you entertain the thought of removing the oil cooler? this is a no-branier.

go ahead and remove the cooler, your engine will last about 100 miles and melt. A new radiator (the right one for your year) is like $130 dollars brand new, why not just get a new one?

Ok, I won't remove the oil cooler. I spent $100 cnd on a basically new 85 radiator. The guy bought it for I think $250. I couldn't refuse.

IF you want an exsuse to put in a 13b or something go ahead take off the oil cooler that way after your engine is a puddle of metal you can put your new one right in

I would keep the bigger rad and move the oil cooler infront of the rad and just take the short oil lines to a hydraulic shop and get the fittings put on a longer hose np.

ok since you've got your heart (or wallet perhaps) set on using this big rad, put the oil cooler in front of it. Putting it behind the rad would just push hot air through it doing nothing.

I'll put the oil cooler in front of the rad. Should work good.

is the car stock? If it is then the bigger radiator is just a hassle. i would just buy another stock one. But if u still want the 85 rad then just do what the guys said put the oil cooler up front.

I've already got the rad. I'm not going to go out and spend another $150 just to have the right rad and end up with a useless rad just sitting around. I plan to upgrade my engine soon anyway. I already have an E-Fan.
