oil cooler and oil psi gauge
 

Ok guys I need to know, since the FB FM oil coolers are gettin scarse to get ahold of used nowadays or even at a decent price, what does it take to mount a FC oil cooler to this car.

Also there is no adapter fitting or tap or anything for a oil psi gauge on this engine I have in my engine bay. So what I'm wondering is can I just tap a PSI gauge below the oil filter or is there some kind of special place I'm gonna have to put a gauge?

yea I saw that but my engine is a 4-port 13B and if I'm correct that only came in 79 and before models.

I'll have to wait until tonight to get you more details...I found instructions for building the lines on the hrpworld.com website, but don't remember exactly where, and I think I used Racing Beat's adapters. Hopefiully, someone else will have this info at their fingertips. For the mounting brackets I just used some scrap aluminum I had laying around and some 1" wide 12 gauge stell I bought at the hardware store, and bolted them together.

the only difference in the adapters is the thread on the studs that go into the pedistal, I need to check some rear plates but I think the holds that the pedistal mounts to are just holes and not threaded.

the reason this is a big deal to me.....well.....the idiot who redid my engine though it would be ok to just bypass the oil cooler

Nope I just did some research before and got their catolog... lots of good info in there.

ok I got a gauge for it now. A nice Ractive 2 1/6 or something like that oil pressure carbon fiber blue electric gauge. Lets hope it does the trick.

I didn't want a mechanical gauge, don't want oil going into passenger compartment.

where can i get all the fittings? for the oil cooler that is.

I read on the other page that all you'd need are 18mm x 1.5 and a 16mm x 1.0, is that right?

Racing Beat has them, and I think MazdaTrix has them. I assume you are talking about the adapters. I think I got the Aeroquip hose ends from Summit Racing...or maybe hrpworld.com.

i'd also need to change to a new oil cooler lines also right? do i have to change the adapters on the engine at all?

Hey, I'm new at this too, so I hope someone that knows will verify! If you're adding an oil cooler, or relocating an oil cooler, you'll need to replace the lines. If you do this, you will need to get the adapters for both ends of both hoses...these adapt from the existing 16mm or 18mm fittings to the AN-10 fittings required for the new hose ends.

Are you starting with a engine that had a beehive cooler or a fmoc? If it's the beehive then you have some water plumbing to do as well.

oh no I have a FMOC on it right now with it bypassed but the lines still there. It's frustrating. But I'm gonna go ahead and get the thing to install the gauge and be done with it.

I got the Mazdatrix Oil adapter(Blue) that mount between the pedestal and the filter, has 2 threaded holes for oil gauges.
