oil catch tank?

just wondering... some guy told that oil catch tanks can be model and/or year specific... is this true?

What is a oil catch tank?

I have heard the phrase, but dont know what it is?

Model and year specific can mean that the vendor knows it will fit that model and year, not necessarily that it was made specifically for it.

Oil catch tanks are usually used on Turboed cars
To prevent sludge build up and some other crap I dont remember it all

It is important to prevent oil from getting into the intercooler on a turbocharged car. They can be installed on any car or motorcycle however and some racing rules require them. In a nutshell they collect any unburned or overflowed oil. Note there are other types of catch cans as well. A local club member has a nice page on installing. http://reganrotaryracing.tripod.com/catch.htm

The Question Mark (?) defines my post as being a question.... or shows my utter confusion at what an "Oil Catch Tank" is ;)
