I dont know about the airdam but your sig. says that you have a gsl and it came stock with an airdamn?

Ill give you $200:cool:

Vohaul 07-27-02 03:48 PM

oh..i meant mazda oem airdam....and im not letting go...its a bit rare these days:)

JIMMY54 07-27-02 04:02 PM

What i've done was just try to fill it up with paint. Of course it doesn't turn out that great but atleast my primer doesn't show.. I just figure why go through that work if im gunna get it all repainted soon anyways. but Bondo should do the job.

Victoria British LTD sells the Front Valence, which I believe is the air dam for $130 (81-83) $170 (84-85). They also sell an aftermarket polyurethane air dam for $200. You can order a magazine at www.victoriabritish.com.

Vohaul 07-27-02 05:46 PM

mazdatrix makes a copy of my airdam as well.....mine is the original, part of the imsa package of 84-85 (rear spoiler, targa band and front airdam:)

thye VB one isnt the same

JIMMY54 07-27-02 08:21 PM

Exactly. Do it any other way and the paint will crack eventually.

MIKE-P-28 07-27-02 11:58 PM

Things worth doing are only worth doing right, if you ask me .. But hey its just me, if you repaint use some sort of flex additive :)

crankit 07-28-02 09:37 AM

I also think there is an additive or special paint to use on urethane to allow for flex without cracking.

Manntis 07-28-02 12:46 PM

the paint used on Saturns allows some flex without cracking

BadAssRX-7 07-28-02 03:30 PM

i went to the auto parts place a year a go and got urathane repair kit..., 2 tubes of shit and it GREAT

I thought there was dye in the plastic?

Keaponlaffen 07-28-02 04:42 PM

I think it's painted, 'cause my friend's parents just got one, and like the day after they got it, we threw our Mountain Bike Ramp into the trunk to go hit it up, and it scratched the bumper as it fell out on the road  I wasn't one of the ones who put it in luckily...

Lmao, My aunt just got one of those Saturn Vue Suv's, and she got rear-ended and they plastic seems to be fine you can hardly tell that somthing hit her.

All paints (well ones Ive painted with) can have a flex additive added to the primer. You dont add flex additive to the paint, well not that I have ever done...

But when buying paint/primer for the spray gun, tell them what you are painting and that you need a good deal of flex addiditive, so minor things dont spider web the paint :D

Manntis 07-28-02 09:04 PM

Saturn adds more, to flex with their "no-ding" body panels. My neighbors just got dinged with a $900 bill for the special paint to repaint a patch of their Saturn SC bumper after getting it scuffed.

The problem with the no-ding panels is it often conceals damage underneath. The vehicle owner looks and can't SEE any damage on the surface, so figures all is peachy keen. That Saturn Vue might have a cracked bumper substructure.
