NOOOO, So close!!

My 5th and 6th port actuating rods got replaced from a new (used) lower intake manifold. I go to bolt it up and everything is turning smooth, the second i tilt the manifold they bind and cease to move. The manifold is just hanging on the two lower studs, when i simply tilt it forward a freakin 1/16" to make it flush they both just bind hardcore. WHY?????!!!!!!!! This is making me so fucking mad. Do the old bushings from the other manifold need to be swapped over to allow the rods to turn smoothly? Assuming they have worn themselves into place? No matter how I torque the bolts to hold the manifold on i get the same 'stuck result. I took a flatbar to the engine and the manifold and i had a tad bit of gasket remains around the right stud, i scraped it off better thinking that would help level it out and no luck. I spose i could swap in the new (used) manifold, but then i would have to take off the oil injectors, the new acv blockoff plate uhhhhhh what a pain. I am really limited on time, ANY help would be thankful. ~Gavin

try just taking them out and see if you like it...

If the loss in low end torque becomes a concern, continue to try and fix them.
