nitrous question
 

i know this is prolly gonna bring alot of hate replys but here goes. ive pretty much hit a road block. ive finished my carb, intake, exhaust and ignition upgrades. and i cant see tearing down a perfectly good engine to do a street or bridge port at the moment so im looking at the alternative. a camden supercharger kit is 3500 and thats way more than i wanna spend so the laughing gas is my only option. my friend is selling a wet kit for 400 dollars thats complete. im only wanting to run like a 100 shot. does anyone have any experience in running a wet shot on a setup like this? any suggestions or tips? and how big of a shot can i run without causeing alot of damage? it wont be ran alot, prolly just a few passes on the strip. btw as it says in my sig im running a lake city short intake with a weber side draft carb...

And nos. IDK about it. ppl do use it but with a supercharger you may throw a rotor. HAHA lol.

Don't laugh, I'll be spraying my Camden, I already use water/meth. Nitrous works really "really" well with the roots blower.

its been a while since i actually looked at the camden site.. i just remember they are pricy and i dont see spending that much on a car that i only paid 700 for.. given i have spent around 1500 in improvements so far. i think a 100 shot would be just enough for the boost i want now every once in a while. so who has ran a setup before? with a wet setup do i need to change carb jets? do i need a bigger fuel pump? dedicacted line for the wet setup or can i run off of the factory line? i wanna have everything together before i start this project and just want some answers from who has done it and some tips to make it work better/easier

If you run a wet kit theres no need to re-jet the carb. There is no way the stock fuel system could power a NOS kit. you may have to go with a high pressure pump and a FPR and tap into the fuel line before the fpr to get the high fuel pressure you need.

alright.. so im guessing ill go with a carter pump unless theres a better one ppl are using?. then regulate it after i tee it off to the nitrous system... im sure ill have more questions after i get this project started.

I did a wet setup on a mikuni. Worked real good and easy / straight foward to install.

I ran a Holley blue fuel pump with a Holley regulator. The fuel line was upsized from the tank to the regulator to 1/2". The pressure to the carb and the nitrous fuel solenoid was only 4psi. The jets I used were what the above link recommended and they worked fine, although I did go a size bigger on the fuel jet as per the advice of my father (two sizes bigger if you go 100). No back firing, plugs stayed clean and it pulled nice. :) I only got around to using a 50 shot before pulling the whole motor / set-up which I'm in the process of now putting into another chassis. Trust me when I tell you you'll want more then a 50 shot. The motor was a high milage stock 12A.

mine has 287k miles on it... but the guy said it was "rebuilt recently"? idk exactly what was done but theres no leaks and it runs like a beast.... thanks for the pic of the setup man. thats around the idea of what i was thinking... i was gonna go with the carter fuel pump but how does the holley blue work? and how much is it? can u get it from a local auto parts place or do u have to order it? it would be nice to be able to just go grab one from autozone

hahaha whats the damnit man for?? o i found a gsl rear for 100 bucks too.... he said i gotta pull it tho which isnt a big deal. i need to quit spending money on my car and finish my half sleeve on my arm and shoulder that i started in january... i have 8 more hours and 800 dollars left but i keep working on my boat and car lol

I would get the 100 shot kit, then re-jet it for 50 - trust me. It seems you know about getting a high flow fuel pump .... so just jet it low - test and tune, then slowly jet it higher. I'd cap out at a 75shot though unless the engine is ported. All it takes is one time to go lean and detonate and then its tear the motor apart time......

Someone above mentioned to jet it richer than recommmended - GOOD ADVICE! Make sure to take it!

I was looking for a double fogger kit and I couldn't locate one...?? Maybe I didn't look hard enough..?? But if you look at the pic I posted above of the Mikuni, there's really no place to put just one fogger where it'll all be distributed evenly. The extra parts to split for two foggers added up quickly. The blowoff tube for the bottle since it's inside the car with a RX, bottle pressure gauge, extra jets to play with @ 9.95 a pop and various other do-dads I spent almost as much as the inital kit.

i dont really know whats all in the kit the guy has. i havent bought it yet due to money issues but ill know more later
