You can tell this guy loved his FB. If I didn't have one already, I'd spend some bucks to have this one.

steve84GS TII 01-22-05 08:43 PM

Its nice, but whats with the milage?
Says 14K but then says 14K on the MOTOR.So whats the chassis milage? If it were only 14K on the chassis, itd be worth the 5000 bucks......but if it did have only 14K then the PS pump and motor would probably not have had to be replaced.
0 bids..............

Aviator 902S 01-22-05 09:02 PM

Very nice, but in order to be worth 5K it would need to say "GSL-SE" on the back instead of plain old "GSL." (and I don't mean merely sticking the badge on the left rear corner--- it has to be a genuine SE). I'd put this one at $3500 U.S. at the very most.

As far as actual mileage goes, the overall condition is more important than the odometer reading. For example, a completely re-conditioned or meticulously maintained '67 Mustang Fastback with an odometer that's rolled over five times is still worth upwards of $25,000. As long as everything that has worn out on this 7 has been replaced it's all good.

31rx7 01-22-05 09:31 PM

$3500 is tops for this car assuming nothing is wrong. I would say $3000 would be a good deal for an educated buyer.

Atkins Dan 01-22-05 10:02 PM

Its very very cleal thoe...

Directfreak 01-22-05 11:11 PM

Very Clean.

Ditto on the pedals, shift knob, and steering wheel...

I do like the seats however... Wonder what they are.

John64 01-23-05 09:36 AM

I can't tell you what the seats are but the steering wheel and shift knob are Grant Evolutions. They are the same ones I have. Try Sumitt Racing if your interested in them. Around $170 for the wheel and 45 for the knob.

DAVID GRIMES 01-23-05 06:28 PM

I bet not abused. I tossed all my brown pieces ( interior and carpet ) to go to black and they were in good shape. I have to say if the interior and exterior and engine and paint/body is all good to go, I'd give more than that. Any one of those catagories could run thousands to make like new again. Hell, I might just get that car.

partsguy74 01-23-05 09:09 PM

Something doesn't look right with the color.. I'm guessing it's a repaint.. Which would explain the new carpet.. Dash looks original color.

vipernicus42 01-23-05 09:19 PM

Dude,

Without any reason to think otherwise, I'd guess this was just a guy's restoration project that he's decided to sell (or HAD to sell for some reason). If I had the money, I'd probably junk my near-perfect interior for some replacements. At least the seats, carpets etc... I mean there's nothing wrong with my carpets, other than the little bit of sun fading...

It looks good, I'd have to inspect and drive it to find out if it's anything suspicious, but I'm with David on this one. It would take thousands to do that. I know, I've spent 4g just restoring mine to stock!

Nice car... wish I had the money ;) It's "a good start" for some really cool autocross projects or something.

If the person who posted this car is here... dude that car is frikkin' awesome :)

My name is David and for the last 25 years, I, too have been a sucker for a clean RX-7 engine bay.

RotorMotorDriver 01-23-05 09:55 PM

I miss my RX-7, it had a clean engine bay back inthe day...

NICE, reminds me of my old Rex. i'd love to have something that clean yet again....

Pele 01-24-05 06:26 AM

It's actually nice to see that the Stock Charcoal dash will look nice with aftermarket black carpet... I wonder where he got it?

So far, the choice is 1A-Auto (eBay) or Victoria British.

DAVID GRIMES 01-24-05 09:51 AM

FYI:

Found out that it has 126K on the odometer. Engine rebuilt by RX7Heaven in Memphis (reputable... he did my exhaust, clutch, and flywheel years ago).

vipernicus42 01-24-05 01:34 PM

Funny how the Rx7Heaven in Memphis is reputable, but the Rx7Heaven in Ottawa is run by a bunch of drunken bastards who'd rather V8 the things than actually work on a rotary. They cut corners everywhere and wanted $150 for a non-functional, rebuildable Nikki!

Clean engine bays rock. This spring I'm stripping mine down to *nothing* to clean it before the meet.

Jon

RRTEC 01-24-05 01:39 PM

The add says 126k on the chassis, still not bad.

I like it is all seems tastefull except for the pedals..

If I had more money then brains I'd buy it.

jasrx 01-24-05 01:48 PM

its not abad s3

anthrax 01-24-05 02:03 PM

Did the add not say that they had just replaced the power steering pump...

This car is not an -SE unless the guy added it after the fact this car should NOT have a PS Pump...

I would not go over $3500 USD for it tops with the fancy interior parts...

Uh, power steering was an option on the GSL-SE as well as on the GSL 12A. It was the automatic transmission that was not available on the SE.

But this car isn't an SE--- it has the 12A carburated engine and the ugly stock 13" rims. The SE had the fuel-injected 13B, 14" not-as-ugly rims, more common lug bolt pattern and bigger/ better brakes. That's why as long as mint original SEs can be had for $5000 or less, original GSLs and lesser models won't be worth more than $3500- $4000 no matter how nice they are.

anthrax 01-24-05 03:16 PM

I did not know Power steering was an Option on the 12A powered cars...

You learn something new every day...

84-7GSL 01-24-05 03:37 PM

How can you say original GSL's are not worth more than $3500 - $4000. One recently sold on ebay for $5500 I believe it was. I was trying to sell mine last summer, has 75,000 orig miles and I dont consider it to be in than great of condition. I was offered $3500 cash. I didnt sell cause it was a non enthusiast female buyer.
