NGK plugs are the bomb!
 

I know everyone knows to use NGK plugs, but I just wanted to reiterate just how necessary they are. Being a broke student I just torched and used a wire brush to clean my old plugs as best as possible, I even checked to make sure they gave spark, then used them for the summer. My car ran okay with the monthly seafoam treatment but always had a hard time starting ie. have to let it crank for 10 or more seconds before it started.
Along comes fall and the starting takes longer or wont start unless pluged in, mind you this is only around freezing temperature. I let it sit for the winter, no insurance, and now that it's reading week for us students I try to start it with no luck.
Anyway I get some free NGK plugs and put them in and HOLY CRAP IT RUNS. It started right up with the new plugs and idled better. And to think I was too cheap to spend the $50 or so on new plugs; if only I knew then how much a difference new plugs make I would have bought them. I guess there's a BIG difference between getting a spark from a plug and getting a GREAT spark.
If you have trouble starting your car or keeping it running I absolutly reccomend
getting new NGK plugs.

New NGK BR8EQ14s are only $6 from sparkplugs.com (which sends you to the NGK site, I believe).

Autolite 2626s work great and I used to get them for $2 but I think they're $5 now. But don't use the other Autolites, only the 2626.

With 3 FBs on the road and running well and a bunch of both NGKs and 2626s in the garage, I decided that when I needed new plugs I'd put in the opposite of the plugs I pulled, and so far I've just replaced NGKs with 2626s.

Yes but shipping to Canada doubles the price.

Well, I actually took the spark plugs, cap, rotor, and wires off my parts car and they were all maybe a month old.
I guess this means I can't conclusively say it was only the spark plugs that fixed the problem, but after seeing my used plugs compared to the new ones, I believe they were the problem.

I put in some new 8EQ's the other day along with new wires, cap and rotor. After that, the engine wouldn't start.. sounded really rough like it wasn't crankin over fast enough to catch. Should the air gap need to be adjusted after new plugs.. would it really be that off with new plugs? Just askin...

The NGK's do not need to be regapped. You may have put the rotor in backwards. Flip it 180 and try it again. I'll be getting some new BUR7EQ's and BR8EQ14's after I put in the Direct Fire in the SA. I'll inspect the cap and rotor as well. The wires still look really good.

try bur6eq and bur8eq great city plugs. or bur7eq and bur9eq those are great highway plugs.
