Newly Installed Clutch Kit = Mushy clutch problem; Please Help

I just bought an '85 RX-7 GS, but it needed a clutch. I bought a Beck/Arnley clutchkit, and paid to have it installed. After I picked the car up, the clutch is like mush. I can push it to the floor with a finger. It goes into gear fine, but it has a terrible feel, and I am worried that the clutch may not have been put in correctly?

More likely, could it be that it was installed correctly, but that it needs hydraulic repairs? I am concerned because this car is now my daily driver, and I need it to run right, and I want to make sure that the clutch is operating as it should be, especially after I have spent all of this money to get it to work right.

Advice? Ideas?

Also, what is the ideal idle for an '85 12A?

Please help.

Thank you,

Joe in KC

Ding! Ding! You got it.
Just bleed the clutch some more. You probably have a little air in the system. Start with the Slave first, then work your way to the Master.

BTW, the rebuild kits are notorious for leaking. It's not that much more to get them new.

I am not sure on the 12A, but 850-900 is fine. When I had 12A's, they were usually set for 1000 RPM, but that's just because they needed help.:(
