To repeat Ground Control's advice about the GR2. "Nice strut/shock, for the wife's car only". My car has the GR2's, as they were on it already. I plan to upgrade to Tokico Illumina's, when I have the funds to do so.
The Tokico HP non-adjustable is about the best for most "Normal" driving. |
is the adjustability of the illuminat way sweeter? are the adjusters accessible easily?
|
Blues. I want Illumina's, but as far as cheap goes, Blues are the way. They are basically the "same" as stock but provide a higher rebound.
Not a Bump *squish* stock setting as stock , but a Bump *bump back* stock. If you catch my drift |

I autox the car regularly. So far, the ST springs and KYB GR2 combo has worked OK, but left me wanting more. Especially since the ST springs have sagged over time. I'm sure the softness of the GR2 assisted in the sagging process. The adjusters for the front are easily accessible by simply raising the hood. The rear adjusters require reaching under the car, but still relatively easy to access. Truthfully, most people just set them where they want, and leave them alone most of the time. It's a sports car, so it isn't sposed to have a cushy ride. |
I'm going with the Illuminas myself, but I was able to get a good price on new front ones and the rears were lightly used. The Illuminas are about 2x as expensive as the Blues. If you have the cash, then I would say Illuminas. Overall, I think that the Blues are a lot better bang for the buck, though.
If you buy either, go to www.re-speed.com . Billy has great prices and service. He supports our cars, so we should support him when we can. http://mrcmfg.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=108_112_41_90 |
