New rear fenders

I need rear fenders for my 82 fb. the car is in great shape except the rear fenders have been patched by some one else long ago. I am having it painted and would like to just replace the rear fenders.

I was wondering if this is possible and if any one has done it before? and if so where i could buy 2 new fenders?

No such luck my friend. They don't have rear fenders per say. Unibody. the rear is molded into the roof/sides/body. the only things you can replace are hood and front fenders.

You have to fix the badly done patch yourself (or pay for the bodywork to fix it). Some people will go as far as to weld in a new piece, but you pretty much have to precisely cut the car in half to weld in a new rear piece.

Don't worry, if the bodywork is done right, it can look perfect.

These are the only ones I've ever seen available.

If its just the arch thats rotted, front fenders will fit. Left front fits right rear, and right front fits left rear. The body lines fits perfect..

ya its just the first inch of the lip, it probobly could have been sanded and painted but some one used 10 pounds of fiberglass...

I knew it needed welded but now that i think about it that could get really messy! i also didnt relize that it would cost $500 ++ after shipping.

thanks for your help guys guess i will just try to fix it.

Can it really be that simple? Looking forward to checking this out at home tonight.

ok now you got me thinkin. how hard would it be to weld on the fender lip and how well would it turn out? im not thinking of doing it my self, my girlfriends uncle restores ford moddle t's and he said that he would try it but there is no body lines to hide a weld.... looks really hard to me.

You can crimp an offset and use plug welds or the newer products for "gluing" panels together. Then a small amount of body filler. Make sure to use seem sealer on any open seems on the back side.
