I am currently making my 2nd rx-7 This is what I plan to use any input about the setup would be appreciated.
Project Goal -Weekend Cruiser, Show Car-
Oh yeah.......We have no Emmissions requirements in this state
1985 GSL
5 Speed Manual
3mm Apex Seals
13B 6 port
Street Ported
7" Super Charger
Holley 650 Carb
Racing Beat Street Port Exhaust
Extreme Weight Reduction

Any input on NOS Systems???
How About Aftermarket Coils???
BODY KITS????
ANY Places to get this equipment besides, Hayes, Rotary Shack, Atkins. Racing Beat, Or Victoria British?????
Any Recommendations of different equipment that yields a better result????
Anyone got video of a 1st generation SuperCharged???

As for input:
Change the interior out copletely to an 83 down interior. Much better looking, but I guess that's sort of an opinion thing :D

I imagine you can pull a fifty shot wet of NOS. I think that's what my boss told me. I'd like to add a little love juice to mine as well, just for shits and giggles. I'd like to know how, and all that jazz.

Napa seems good at ordering damn near anything for you.

As for the video, check around the forums for a video of Direct freak killing a brand new 350Z in his supercharged first gen.

Oh, yeah, and, remove the rats nest emmissions system if you haven't already.

Is that an old school 13B, possibly from an older RX? Around here, there doesn't seem to be a lot of support for the Holleys. Maybe try getting the stock Nikki Sterlingized, or go with a Weber. I have no clue on those areas, though.

You have the whole exhaust system? Good job.

As for the weight reduction, details? If you're just looking for a weekend/show car thing, I'm not sure you wanna turn it into a full out racer :)

Direct Freak's car is turbocharged, not supercharged. Older 13B's were 4 ports, not 6 ports from what I understand.

I have seen many superchargers use Holleys, never Weber or any other. Holleys are easy to work on and pretty inexpensive too.

If you are going to do a show car with no interior it will be hard, it's a lot of work to make everything shine.

I chose holley because the supercharger is designed to utilize it. As for the interior I am thinking crush velvet custom job like my old 83. I agree totally with the 83 or lower interior it does look better, im just trying to find a donor 83.
Of course all those nasty little emissions nest will be long gone by the time im done. Simplicity is next to godliness, hence the lean over toward carb setup. Here in south dakota I have only seen 2 rx-7's one is for sale, the other was in a slavage yard, which i quickly snatched up and put in my garage. These ppl only do classic muscle cars around here.

Yeah, closest thing we have to an "emissions" law is that you're not allowed to belch enough smoke to obscure the rear license plate for more than ten seconds :D I've never even seen an RX7 with the original emissions gear still working.

I agree with you that carbs are simple, but electronic fuel injection isn't really rocket science. Not sure if it's expensive to set up over there, but I can get the injection gear and a computer over here for less than US$1000. It's infinately easier to tune, and much more suitable for forced induction.

OMG DUDE! you should start hooking your american rx7 fellows out then, I'm sure if you figure the right shipping, ppl would give you the money to get it. If your talking $1000 for the whole thing, I'm ready to give you some money... Last I checked I'm gonna be spending $3200 before shipping..

If the kiwi is just talking about the stock injection stuff from a 13b s3 or s4 with ecu and wiring harness you should be able to easily get that for under $1000US here from a scrap yard or even on the board.

I would recomend 12A 4 port side housings if you are going to port. From what I understand, it offers much more room for porting. Good luck with your project. Sounds like it will be awesome!

Well here's how I'm justifying it:

Series 5 13B-T engine, including injection, turbo, crank-angle sensor, alternator & loom:

$NZ1800 (roughly US$1000)

Link fuel & ignition computer:

$NZ600 (about US$350)

Bosch 1600cc injectors:

$NZ250 each (US$150)

So for about US$1650 I can get a S5 13B-T engine pretty much sorted from the firewall forward. Sure, I haven't factored in a fuel pump, intercooler or boost controller, but you get the idea. Even if you run the standard injectors, you'll still have a running 13B-T injected and turbocharged engine with change for US$2000. Also, there are a heap of second hand parts over here, so if you're prepared to shop around you can get it even cheaper.

Ok, must have read this wrong then as it appears that you are only talking about the injection gear and no where mention a motor too. Thanks for clearing up the price. That is a good deal then.

Can I send you $350 for that computer?..
