new owner of 80 GS RX7 tips and tricks plz:)
I'm mostly calling out the other 1980 GS owner in Alaska and I would really appreaciate some advice on this awesome car that I plan on charishing till the day I die, hopefully that's a 150 now that I have this baby:) I have money to spend and am extreamly resourceful when it comes to finding old Japanese rare car parts, long story short. I need all advice I can get. thx bro

:D
You rang? Grats!! Best RX7 model of 'em All. (IMHO). Well done. Gads. Advise? I could bury you, but don't know where you are with it. History. Condition. What works now. What doesn't. Right off the top, unless you have documentation from the PO that its had recent change of all fluids, I would start there. I'd yank the rad and have it dunked at a Rad shop so you know the cooling system is up to snuff. Big deal for rotaries. Likewise every rubber hose!! AND- should say there are a couple of gents here who know waaaay more than me on this fine model year of '7. DD, Banzai? step up Lads.... AND- PIX! show us your Beloved... Stu Aull 80GS Alaska |

I lit can't sleep I'm do stoked about finding this car. Story gos two day ago I was crusung down a back road in Salem, and guy litterly just pulled out awesome looking Rx7 and I have always wanted one so I met him noon next day and paid 1500$ cash clean title. I'm 3 rd owner, been garages more then 10 years of life. 86,000 origional miles, 5- speed, A/C works perfect:)

You guys will be first to see pics as soon as I wake up in morn. ( no light lol) Thanks again, can't wait to get a awesome rebuild thread going here
|
Well it sounds like a gs, since it has a5 speed. Does it have a sunroof? I'm also an 80 owner, are you going to leave it stock or modify it?
|
Yikes, you did well on price for that mileage. I miss my SA, they have the best looking bumpers and the 80 fixes the worst thing about the 79 (electric ignition)
|
You're gonna have fun!
Welcome to the 80 GS club! |
I paid $600 for mine, original owner, 90,000 miles :D Not trying to one up or anything...

Pretty good score for a 28 year old full time college student, I just saw two 83 gs Rx 7's in the junk yard yesterday, still had full motors in them , so yes I'm going to build it up to answer other guy. I got a couple grand to blow and I want to get extra parts for my 12A now, lol |
On my jolly way to the Tec section, with pic from junk yard, go and join in conversation on that thread if you would like. Don't don't how to post thread links but will soon;)
