Hello,

I recently traded a buddy of mine for a 1983 RX-7 Limited Edition. Its in pretty good running condition with 172k miles. The body is in decent shape with worn paint and a couple of rust spots. It need new tires ,shocks, struts, and a muffler.

I just changed the oil, air filter, fuel filter, and spark plugs.

The interior was kinda crappy so I pulled everything out down to the metal and am going to do an entire custom job in there.

Also, my buddy and I have started removing the old paint so we can get started on a new paint job this weekend.

I realize that it is a LE, but with the condition it was in I don't know if I could have restored it all the way.

If anyone needs the Limited Edition logos, the Mazda logo from the front, or the body molding let me know.

Hey, welcome to the forum. I think you are on the right track. I know what your saying with the interior. I bet the headliner is the worst isn't it. I redid all my interior parts. Repainted them and just fixed a few that needed it. You have a rare car there. I can't remember the exact manufacture numbers of the LE, but its not more than 5000 cars. I love the rims on it though.

PICTURES are always welcome on the forums :D. Did you check the rear wheel wells for rust where the bins used to be, that's usually the worst spot, and up front on the back side of the wheel wells. Also set aside a few hours to read the FAQ sticky, it's wonderful.

Yeah, the worst rust was in the rear wheel wells, but we cut them out a couple days ago.

Its amazing how much room there is when you take out the metal frames for the bins. Maybe enough room for a sideways back seat, if there is enough headspace?

At some point I would like to put new wheels on. How much do you guys think I could get for the LE wheels?

Also, do you know of anywhere besides ebay to get replacement plastics "cups" for the inside door handles?
