new daily driver, what should i get?

as much as i love her my SA is now going to be relegated to street racing duties, i.e. racing clutch/pressure plate, turbo, weight reduction etc.

hence im going to have to look for a daily driver, there are 2 options at the moment, i was thinking a nissan 180sx as they seem fairly nippy and are very good on fuel. or if i have the motivation i want to get a datsun 1200 or 120Y and put either a 13BT or SR20T turbo 4cyl motor in it.

anyone got any suggestions coz i dont want to get into something that feels like a piece of shit after driving my baby.

i've always wanted a rotary datsun 510.
that'd be tits. of course, i wanted mine with a pport 20b, :101384_l: but daily driver 2 rotor is close enough.

Get a beater so you can put more money into your other car.

like...say...a stock 120Y :P. actually i wouldnt mind it, means i could thrash it to shit and not feel guilty...take that pistons. they can be had for 500 bucks here registered so its not biggy. just the 180sx seems pretty nice but average around 5000 AUS.

Considering I've never been down under, get me a ticket and I'd be more than happy to go car shopping with ya and throw in my valuable advice. :)

Id go with the one who saves the most gas, racing tires expensive...

being in Australia, you probably have other choices for cars we don't have here

if you love 7's just get another one for street use
and god forbid I say what i'm going to next....................
I had alot of fun with a 1st gen 86 Honda CRX Si
very light and suprisingly quick
great mpg and run great as long as you don't try to fix anything on them :rlaugh:
I swear old Hondas keep running as long as you don't try to repair them

id love another 7 but they are much rarer over here and i guess i do need something lighter on petrol. ahhh decisions decisions. might just get a 500 dollar datto just for the hell of it and sink my cash into my other 2 project cars (restoring a 1964 plymouth fury hearse) and converting my 7 of course

Try to find an old VW Jetta Diesel. They get like 40mpg.
