new clutch,what do you think?

Just put this new setup in my 83. Grabs like mad. Anyone have any experience with this type of clutch? It's brass and ceramic

no experience with that type. did you put a lightned flywheel on it as well? a friend has a sprint turbo with a performance clutch installed. feels like you are dumping the clutch every time you start out in that thing!

No. I used the stock flywheel but I had it resurfaced. There is no ridding this clutch either. I can barley move on the ice but I get a good third now. It will put you back in the seat for a minute.

very nice. i ahd an 85 gsl with a mild street port that would grab a bit of rubber in 4th.

lol...4 puck racing clutch...what kind of engine or racing do you do that required that kind of gripping power??

brianw 02-08-04 02:45 PM

None yet but I wanted to get a this now rather than a stock clutch which I needed anyway. I have soem big plans for a high HP motor and I wanted to get the whole clutch thing figured out now. But i realize this is WAY more than I need right now. It's just plain stupid how well it grabs!

thats with quasi bald tires

I just got new tirres put on too Eagle ST's. I might get a fourth if I had the old baldies on!

nice. im using a 4 puck with 3500 lbs pressure plate in my daily driver RX-3. Wish I didnt the same in my son's FB. I used a 6-puck instead of a 4-puck. But, i will change it once I meet the 1,000 miles break-in period.

Re: Re: new clutch, what do you think?

Why is a 4 puck clutch used for racing where a round clutch is used for street?

Logic would say, more surface area = More grip...

Perhaps I'm missing something... Why cut chunks outta something that could be round?

i have a similar clutch. 4 puck solid, thing grips like no other.

im going to put it on my TII motor when it goes in.. i have no idea how im going to controle it with a 12lb flywheel.

Well I blew this one. My freind told me the donor clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate he had was to a 83 but I think now that it was off a 82. This would ex[plian the vibration I now have. The question I now have is while I know that I have to use my 83 flywheel can I use the 82 clutch and pressure plate on my 83 flywheel?

Just found out that I can't use any of this so it's for sale. pm or email with an offer if you're interested in buying it.I have to try and get some of my money back so I can have the right one built now. :(
