New 83 Rx7
 
Looking for some advice, I just bought a 1983 rx-7 with 57,000 miles for 3500. Its fun to drive and it looks beautiful, but i wanna get a little more power with under a grand to spend what upgrade do you guys suggest I get started with?

If you live in a state without emmission testing, a Racing Beat header and presilencer fitted in place of the stock exhaust manifold and cats will free up some power. Those 2 items will set you back around $450-500 alone.
The stock cats are fairly restrictive. Simply removing them, and going with a straight pipe in their place helps quite a bit.

Also, if you are going the non emissions friendly route. Don't forget to try saving up for a nice weber or something. I will never stop promoting webers on these rotarys ever since I got mine working lol.
