Needed pics of 1st gen
Alright, I'm trying to decide what color paint to go with ... i was going to go with black but i head about how anoying black can be to shoot cause everything shows up on it ... so right now i'm considering green or probably different shades of blue. If anyone has either of those please post pics of them ... thanks

Just post a pic in the Lounge and ask for Photoshop help.

Go with the black, you'll thank yourself in the end. The extra cost and time invested in making a black paint job look good pays off as it is easily the best looking colour on a 1st gen IMO. Check out my cardomain site to see a bunch of pictures of my black 82.

Green, FTW!
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y54...lypse/sav1.jpg I'm also a big fan of black and white on 1st gens. And gray. And red. And blue. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y54...e/BUZ2IT-1.jpg |
I'm not sure if it belongs to anyone here on the forum, but this color looks amazing on the car:

thats my other one. those are panasports. |
does anyone know what color of green that one picture is (the darker one) I kinda like that one. or what car it might of came off of or who the owner is? Lol
There's nothing wrong with black, silver, or white But thats like the 3 populor colors of choice for most cars ... so i just want something that would stand out abit more ... its like how many meets have you been too and there was a whole row or white and a whole row of white ... |
That green looks similar to british racing green. Not a bad colour, but if you want to stand out, paint the car pink, or bright purple, or lime green, or something like that. Most other colours are too common.
But anyway, Im just partial to black. Black in most cases goes on a fairly plain car, which is exactly what I like. I don't like crazy body kits and multiple colours on a car. Just a functional body kit that enhances the looks of the car and 1 solid colour on the car. |
I personally would select a light color. In my opinion, the light colours best show off both the lines and shape of the vehicle. Dark colors also conceal the side guards which again go far in accentuating the lines and shape of the vehicle.

If you choose black and you want a killer deep look, ask for a Toner instead of a factory black. Most blacks are a mix of yellow, blue or red.Toner is true, super black often used by Mercedes and BMW.It has almost nothing but pigment and will not reflect any brown or milky haze.Take a real close look at a regular black car in direct sunlight and youll see what I mean.
I used Toner for my top and Im still amazed by how solid and uniform the color(or lack of) is..... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...y/DSC02046.jpg |

That metallic blue with the polished window trim, chrome door handles, and polished wheels is the best looking 1st gen I have seen on this forum. I especially like the fact that it doesn't have a lot of ugly plastic air dams, spoilers and other silly looking parts. This car shows that the 1st gen is really a beautiful car with the right paint , wheels and a few nice details.
My red/silver paint job did not compare with the blue one, but I offer it just to illustrate that a two color paint job, accentuating the body lines, can be interesting. If you want to get creative with the spray gun, a shaded paint can be intersting. I painted the convertible silver on top, then shaded it to a charcoal metallic at the bottom. The effect is interesting - I actually had people ask me if it was stainless steel!! My answer was "No, only John DeLorean was that stupid!" |

The dark is nice, but you have to wash it a lot. https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...d=136156&stc=1 https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...d=136158&stc=1 https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...d=136159&stc=1 |
