There's not much on the 12a but they do sell a rebuild video on atkinsrotary.com and i think they have a kit to go along with it.

search rebuild video.
buy one.
watch it many times until you understand how everything works.

a rotary engine is easier to rebuild than a piston engine read your haynes manual and before you buy parts tear your engine down first 12a rotor housings are hard to find in good shape and can be expensive since mazda doesn't make them any more

easy.
you wont know everything you'll need until you tear down the motor.

There is some good info here:

Where do you live in Oregon? I live in OR now, but am moving to VA. If it works out time wise, I could maybe help you with your rebuild during one of my vacations back here in Oregon.

Head over to NoPistons.com, to the engine building and porting section. Other than hands on experience, that's where I learned quite a bit.

I bought the RotaryAviation video and highly recommend it. I watched it a couple of times before starting the rebuild...as suggested by others, watch the video, then tear down the motor to see what you need, then order parts. You don't know for sure if your housings are going to be worth using or not. Then, when it was time to start the teardown, I put a dvd player (I copied the tape to a DVD) in the garage and went to work. Made things much easier.

Good luck,
Rich
