need help with sway bar
 

i want to know which sway bars to go with on my 82' rx-7 project anybody has any idea on which one is the best

my bud and I just put on a racingbeat swaybar(front) on his. He says he would recommend it. www.racingbeat.com, www.mazdatrix.com are good site for our cars. I have the ST front and rear sway bars on mine, the rear bar is adjustable. Bought them through Summit. RB is also a good choice as they have been supplying quality parts for rotarys since day1. Choice is your's.

thanks i was thinking about the rb sway bars i was also looking at the eibach and the suspension techiques one but really dont know how good they perform

I don't know about you trochoid but when me and my bud installed his front sway bar like three days ago, we had to grind off some of the sway bar to make it fit in the bracing thing that holds the tension rod. The sway bar wouldn't fit in the hole so we grinded it and hammered it in. Its a good improvement too. now he goes a lot faster around the turns

if im not mistaken the ST and racing beat are both the same size.

I think in the victoria british catalogue is shows the size comparison in a chart.

has any of you used the eibach bars i want to be able to handle good on the track and on the road i dont really want to buy two different sways bars to do so

The front RB unit is great and I found a massive improvement with it installed. That said, I wouldn't buy the rear bar. My car handles best with no rear sway bar at all and the RB unit up front. That combined with the RB spring set, about 1.5 degrees negative camber and Tokico blues on all four corners makes for a very neutral handling car that turns in very crisply and with very little drama. Only when you're at speed or driving like a goof does the snap oversteer start to creep back into the equation, but it's far more controllable without the bar than with, in my experience. I've also tried both sizes of stock bar in the back and neither are worth having installed.

I also have the RB front bar and highly recommend it. To install it, you have to remove both of the tension rod supports at the front of the car (good time to replace those bushings too).

One other thing; when I received my bar, the decal was upside down. This led me to install the bar upside down the first time, then had to remove it and re-install. Pain in the butt caused by a minor oversight on their part. Handles like a new car though...

Yes^^, be paying good attention on putting it in place. Very important. My bud put it on backwards too and your right, it sucked.

Yeah, I always meant to send them an email telling them about that damn decal but never got around to it. It's always the little details that end up biting you in the ass....

RB rear sway bar
 

I have total;y redone the rear end on my se but i am having issues getting the RB rear sway bar installed. I can't get the clamps and bushings the mount to the axle houseing to fit. I have tried vise grips, channel locks, etc...... has anybody encountered this problem? This is all that is stopping me from moving on to the next step. I need to install oil seals, wheel bearing and collars and actually put the axles back in. i need to move on.

Lube the bushings and clamps, then find longer bolts to draw the clamps down. Be careful to not cross thread the bolts. You should have new, larger bushings and clamps that came with the bar.
