fusable links are good.. i pulled the dash out found nothing wrong.... everything was plugged in the right place nothing was left out... so i decided to look into the ignition switch... i tried wiggling it around and my feul pump would come on for a second and shut of then nothing.... so started taking stuff apart and this is what i found...

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
check your ignition switch wiring. get a test light, i believe its the black wire/yellow stripe that sends power to the starter . test that that wire is +12 volts in the start position, if not you plugged something in wrong or the fusable link (attached to the ignition harness) might be bad

Wel my advice is to take break and retrace all your steps. It could be a plug not completly connected, especialy on the wring harness.
Not to sound dumb but I will go over everything.
start with the simple things, I know it does'nt make sense now but you seemed worried and might have miss some thing easy.
I just did this on my gsl-se
first pulled out the starter and the battery cables completly.
clean and replace as needed, also ensure you have a good ground.
pulled the fude link boxclened it too and check all wires .
checked for continuity on all wires at every spot fom battery, alternator, fuse links sensors etc.
threw in some new plug cables, cap rotor.
juped it wit a strong battery, check all fuses. then coils, igniters fuel etc.
most likely you missed something and is best to check with a clear mind and no stress, have a cold one and enjoy..

thanks for advice... but i have done this at least three times now... and not alone, my buddy and i were out there for at least 3 hours yesterday going through each wire, checking all the fuses... thats how we got the gauge cluster to work, one of the fuses was bad but you couldnt see it by the naked eye... and we thought we had it... but nope.. no start, not even a try... we even connected everything to just see if you needed everthing connected eventhough we knew you didnt haha, like dimmmer switch cig lighter... ect...sill nothing, the one thing we both noticed was... when you turn the key and all the dummy lights come on, when you go to start it they dim a tiny bit...

there's an e-bay store, "rotary restorations" i believe, i got my ignition switch from him when mine broke, can't remember price but i also got all 3 other locks with it keys and all. very cool guy you may wanna check up see if he's got something for you.
you could also do what i did and go to the local auto parts and get a universal switch and splice wires just to see if its your switch, just make sure you leave enough wire to where you can rewire it if it wasn't the switch lol. i think i got my switch for like 6 bucks or something, just a temporary fix.
didn't think i had the link bookmarked but i did lol : http://stores.shop.ebay.com/ROTARY-R...1QQ_fsubZQ2d33

Round and Round

There is one plug the Black/yellow wire goes through between the ignition switch plug and the starter. It is in the engine compartment under the Brake master cylinder. White 6 terminal plug, X10 in the 83 wiring diagram. It connects the front harness to the transmission harness. multimeter or test light is the best bet, but you can connect a long wire to the spade terminal (where the Black/yellow wire is) on the starter. When you touch the other end to the + terminal of the battery the starter should engage (make sure it's out of gear) and start the engine if the ignition is turned on and everything else is OK. If this works, pretty good bet the electrical part of the ignition switch is bad.

Wow does the picture of the broken switch remind me of mine that i had to replace. :-) Its the switch. I had the same problem. Did you by chance try starting it with a screw driver (being very careful not to break it again!!!) If its not starting while the switch is in the column it could be because the little piece that turns the switch isnt turning it far enough.... Taking the switch out and putting it back in, may have caused it to go on the column turned just far enough the wrong way that the switch isnt turning quite far enough. After my plastic in my switch cracked, i bought a used ignition switch offa here, and put it in the car, and the fuel pump and everything woudl come on but it wouldnt turn over. Took it apart and used a screw driver and it worked fine.... finaly i took a pair of pliers looked in the column with the switch off and bent the little prong counterclockwise a little bit so that it would turn the switch more when i turned the key, and well, its worked perfect ever since... just be careful not to break anything, but im willing to bet thats the problem... is the switch is just not turning far enough, sorry if this sounds like rambling, i hope it is understandable.... and hopefully im right, so you can be back on the road.
