Need help with my 12A!!!

Last night I started my RX-7 and I hadn't driven it in two days so I opened the hood to check the engine, and fluid and what not. Well near the bottom of the engine there was a red glow. It looked like the engine was burning red hot and then it actually started sparking. Anyone know what is wrong with my engine? :(
Or is this normal and I have just never noticed it before?
Thanks for the help!

was it your exhaust manifold glowing red and your plug wires sparking? Those two would seem to go hand in hand

damon 10-28-02 12:44 PM

sounds like your running lean or a clogged cat?

peace

I am not sure if it was my exhaust manifold glowing red. Is that normal? But the sparks were coming from the part that was glowing red, not from the plugs. Which makes me think that this is not normal.

then its gotta be the manifold. as damon said, your probably either running lean or you got a clogged cat.

Im sorry what does "running lean" mean? I removed all the cats.

not enough fuel to the engine,... causes it to run hotter

84+85rx-7 02-28-03 04:22 PM

so what can I do?

fine tune your carb.

Mine did this too when my trailing ignition wasnt working, and also again when I had the car running on a basically dead battery.
