I need help identifying what transmission mounts I have. I want to replace the bushings and mounts for my transmission.
S5 TII transmission in a 82 chassis.

At the moment you don't really have much of anything on there, looks like whoever did the swap just put some rubber between the FC's upper trans mount and your FB crossmember.

Getting an actual bushing in there (whether you want to run the FB one or FC one) will take some work. Can you weld?

I don't have pics of my setup on me at the moment unfortunately, I'll see if I can find something...

+1 someone just took the Y from the FC and put it in the crossmember of the FB, so they skipped the mount

Is that a peice of an old tire? Or did Chris mutilate an escalator?

What I'd do is mod the stock FC Y style mount into something that will allow a stock 1st gen trans mount to work... if possible. I've never installed a T2 tranny, but I'd look for ways to get an actual mount in there, as opposed to something that is solid-ish.

I've tried two through-bolted trans mounts and they transfer so much noise and such that it makes you not want to drive it.

FB crossmember with the FC y mount & a Chris custom vibration dampner is what I currently have.
Since it is not a straight forward replace old bushings job now, who has ideas how to mount the transmission for less clunks and vibrations?

Yes that is what you have now.

For mine I swapped tailshaft housings to a S4 T2 which has a flat mounting surface like the FB. Some slight modding of the FB trans mount and it bolts right on, then I notched the FB trans crossmember to lower the trans to the correct height. You could also just put spacers between the FB crossmember and body to accomplish the same thing.

Another option is to use all FC parts and modify them to bolt to the FB body, the overall size and shape of the FC trans crossmember is close to that of an FB and could be made to work. That's what i'll be doing on my current build.

There are of course other options :)

not really seeing how this would be used on the FB, ideas? Aside from cutting a FB and cutting a FC mount in parts and welding them I dont really see how to make that work.

The FB looks like it uses only 1 bolt per side to hold it to the chassis, the FC tii mount uses 2 bolts on both sides, and the angles of the sides are different.

Fc y-piece, adapted to fb tranny mount to custom crossmember seems to be pretty common way of doing it.

I'm going to put a S4 T trans in my SE project I like the notch idea, instead of the spacers. Would love to see any pics you got

As for using the FC crossmember, if you look at the FB body there are actually two threaded holes per side. I'm assuming the other one is for the auto trans crossmember but I'm not 100% sure. Anyway, the spacing between those holes is almost identical to that of the FC crossmember. I don't think it will just bolt right in, but it is VERY similar and could be made to work. At least that's my theory, I won't know for sure for another month or so when I start working on my latest swap...

I'll see if I can get some pics, might clear things up, like Nikko13b said, the FC Y piece adapted to the FB mount and crossmember is the most common way of doing it, you will need to space the crossmember off the body about an inch though (aluminum blocks and longer bolts is common) to keep the trans at the right level.

I was wondering why I'm having so many issues with my mount...

I ordered a new FB mount, which I guess was stupid, because I need to drill it out in order for it to line up with the S4 trans tailshaft. I also had a 1/2" aluminum spacer made to fit it, again, without realizing that it doesn't line up with the tailshaft bolt holes.

Then I started to worry about the angle of the driveshaft.

Am I just over-thinking this?
