Need help with fuel leak

Ok guys, Ive done everything I can think of, but fuel keeps coming out the air vent sylenoid. Ive replaced the fuel check valve with a male-male conector to make it free flowing, put in a fuel pressure regulator, replaced the gasket a couple times and nothing is helping. Should I replace the sylenoid? Also if I blow into the return line...should I be able to blow through it???

Bump....someones gotta know the answer

Replace the solenoid. I had a fuel leak and the solenoid and regulator was the cuprit. I also replaced the FPD while I was at it.

where did you pick up the sylenoid?

Dealer.

Ok....thats where I was figuring i would have to pick it up. I might just pick up another carb from a junk yard and rebuild it

You two are talking about two different things. Web777 is talking about a GSL-SE (fuel injected). Sometimes when the FPR goes out on them, the fuel will run into the FPR solenoid because of a ruptured diaphram. Your issue seems to be something else. Have you checked the fuel pressure? You said that you couldn't blow through the return line. Maybe the return line is plugged causing high fuel pressure. If fuel pressure is okay, then you would probably be best off getting another carb and go from there. Good luck.

Im running a fuel pressure regulator. Are you supposed to be able to blow through the return line???

His FPR is different than yours. I think he wasn't understanding where your leak was coming from. What kind of FPR do you have? Is it adjustable? Do you know what it is set at? You should be able to blow though the return line. See if you can borrow a fuel pressure tester (or buy one for about $20) to see what your fuel pressure is actually at. If the return is blocked, you will have all sorts of problems over filling the carb, flooding, etc. This is probably why fuel is being pushed out your air vent solenoid.

ok....thats what i needed to hear. I bought my FPR from checkers....forget what brand...but ive had it running at like 1psi. Could that also be why she is running so rich? I cannot find the mixture adjustment screw, but found the air adjustment.
