I'm lazy, I only worked on it for about a hour a day once a week or so. I'd forgotten how good Webers sound :)

is that a 2nd gen wheel?

Felix Wankel 03-18-02 04:34 PM

Here's some more. I'm not all the way done, so don't give me shit for the messy engine bay :)

Yeah its an extra one I had. It doesnt fit the turn signal canceler right.

yayarx7 03-18-02 04:43 PM

I just broke my turn signal canceler on my SE. CRAP!

REVHED 03-18-02 04:48 PM

Man, I've gotta get a set of those rims. But you're right... nothing beats the sound of a big Weber at full throttle. Well almost nothing.

MIKE-P-28 03-18-02 04:51 PM

:) I'll take the turn signal canceler or whatever its called I NEED ONE!!!! 84-85 , I got one from an 80 but its too big and dont work correctly :)

By the way I see the hammer, best tool every made except for duct tape :)

I think you have to get the whole universal switch. I did last time it broke. Hit the junkyard and find a FB without the colapsed steering column and snag it. I will later this week.

RotorMotorDriver 03-18-02 05:03 PM

ok, now take a few more pictures of the surrounding area...I swear that car will be gone by morning :D j/k man, nice car though :). I like the blue/silver rotor housings.

Do these cars have "colapsable" columns?? Like the new "telescoping" design? Or is it just someting else?

~T.J.

yayarx7 03-18-02 05:12 PM

yes, they have a plastic injected pin in the two parts of the steering column. a blow will break this pin allowing the column to colapse. A safety thing. I have had three cars where this happened without a wreck, I think these things get brittle after a time. The only fix is to pull the column or to get at the column without pulling it, and drill a hole and fit a pin. PITA. be very careful when pulling your wheel or working on your column. Usually if this happens the universal switch gets broke because of the steering wheel canceler thingy protruding too far into the switch.

nimrodTT 03-18-02 05:13 PM

yayarx7,
You can change out just the cancel cam by itself.

Felix,
Is that a Purolator regulator I see? tsk, tsk, tsk!

4ohfour 03-18-02 05:32 PM

what did you paint the block with?

cheers'

85RX7GS 03-18-02 07:59 PM

What color paint does the car have on it? Is that some type of blue?

Felix Wankel 03-18-02 08:18 PM

The car is Tender Blue Metallic and I painted the engine with regular old engine paint.

WiLDRiCE 03-18-02 10:14 PM

Hey felix what offset and how wide are those rims ?

SilverRocket 03-18-02 10:22 PM

Looks awesome Felix!

I especially love the rims and the blue/silver housings. It's amazing how roomy the engine bay looks once you get rid of all the stock crap.

piston pounder 03-18-02 10:59 PM

NICE!, 45mmDCOE right?. Did you rebuild the motor and if so street or bridge?. Hows it run with that carb?.

Felix Wankel 03-18-02 11:03 PM

The motor is a stockport 12A out of another car. It looked like this when I started:

My rims are 15x7. Not sure of the offset.
