My New Wheel Adapters
I just got my new wheel adapters to 4x110 to 4x114. THey are good quality and I already tried them on my car and they fit very nicely. I am very pleased with the product. I can't wait to get good wheels now. I tried on a set of old 240 wheel and they fit, so I know all around that it fits. I know about the safety issues and I don't really want them brought up in this thread. I haven't heard, seen or know anyone who has had an accident, and those who maybe have probably didn't install them correctly. Well tell me what you think then.

This is a pic from the side, showing the 1.25" thickness.
|
 Who makes those again?
|
I actually got them from a company called wheel outfiters. They can custom make anything you want.
|
How much munny?
|
I made my own for the "Mariah" but it was way to much work.. next time I'll buy...
//magnus |
yea, how much? do they have a website or a phone #? :D
|
They were $145 with the studs and the lug nuts to adapt the to the hubs. You supply the actual wheel lug nuts. You can check them out on ebay....
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=38662 They are very nice quality. and the tech guy is very nice and communication is great. |
Very nice! For future reference, their email address is WHEELADAPTERS@AOL.COM
|
yep thats it. I can't wait to get my wheels. I think I am going something like 15" or 16" and very lightweight, i like the black rota wheels. I think that is going to be my chice. Or maybe just maybe.. 17s that are black with a chrome lip. But I'm not really going for the show that much. So I think 15" or 16" light wheels will work for me.
|
so does this also convert our wheel hubs to studs?
|
yea, the studs to mount the adapter to the hub come with the kit. Then there are studs on the adapter that you mount your wheels to the adapter. So at most you will need some lock tite and some lug nuts.
|
nice, i just shot that guy an email. i gotta get me some of these! WOOOOOO! :D
|
I want 4/110mm to 5 lug
|
thats what I'm going to get from CP only because I have 5 lug rims already to put on, otherwise these seem sweet. and they're half the price too!
|
Will those like make your wheels stick out farther?
|
that was me ? also i would have gotten the ones for 5 lug so i can use the FD 5 star wheels they would look sharp or even the BBS mesh off the FC convertible. with the lip polished the mesh powdercoated black very nice i think

I guess they're okay if you like non hub-centric spacers.
Hey, ignorance is bliss, right? |
spacers
that is a good deal. When I was looking for wheels last year at this time everyone wanted $300 for the adapters. It is almost impossible to find nice wheels for the FB. It took me months to find wants I wanted on Ebay.

Originally posted by ioTus and instead of helping everyone out and explaining this jest he will laugh quietly to himself while the rest of the forum goes on in their ignorance and bad thigns happen. What happens is the axle doesn't always line up with the center of the rim, resulting in vibration because it's.... Off center, duh... There's two ways this is dealt with... A tapered hub in the middle of the actual hub, and tapered lugs or lugnuts and tapered holes that match them... Some cars have both. I like those, they actually have four lugs rather than the fucked up ones with 3 lugs... Those 3 luggers scare me. |
3 lug myth..not here!
Our 4x110 to 5x114.3 5 bolt conversion was rumored to be held on by 3 bolts...not the case. One of the wheel studs acts as the 4 bolt, so from the front it would appear as 3 but certainly is not. 3 would never work. We have customers running 290mm tires on their drag cars with the conversion adapters..axles snap and the kit stays put...it all comes out at the track! Pictured is my 83 Cosmo powered 1st gen with a 225/45/17 on a 17x7.5 wheel, I run the adapters front and rear no problems. cheers

Damn, that is a good price. I paid a bt more than that for mine. as far as hub-centric is concerned it is not needed. It is only there to center the wheel till the lugs are tight. After that the lugs hold all the load. If you are just completely anal about it you can measure the opening and call tiresrack or discount tire and more than likely they will have some slip on spacers that will work for you. Or just make yourself a 3 or four "shims" to use to center the wheel while tightening them. But I have never nver had any problems. I mounted the spacers by eye and then the rims the same. It is not hard to get the space between the hub and spacer even.
I have been running them for about 1.5years withot any problems. And in the 1/4 I would imagine after the traps I probably hit around 125mph or so and it feels pretty good. ;) Later Randy |
Well technically the wheels will be centered because of the acorn style lug nuts.. they center the adapter to the hub. I thought a lot about the hub centric piece missing, but CP Racing doesn't have it so these are as good as theirs and 1/2 the price.
You can get the wheel adapters in about any pattern you want 4 or 5 lug. They can make 4x110 to 5x114 if you want them. You just have to talk to the guy and he can hook you up. |
Mine are also 1.25" thick. This mkaes the offset of honda rims fit darn near perfect.
