my fuel pressure regulator leaks:
It leaks from here:
I'm guessing this means, TIME FOR A NEW ONE ! (which sux cause this one is new). what do you say? |
Got to get that fixed. That sucks man....
|
under warrenty still? sounds like manufacturing defect.
is the adjuster that threads in the top unthreaded too much? |
take off that top nut
go to napa and get a crush washer for it or sell it to me for 5$ :p: |
put an o-ring and a crush washer on there geoff, that should do the trick
-greg |
i say get it replaced if its under warrenty. if its messing up now, it might take a big shit on you down the road. if not, then i guess either do the washer or get a new one. but i say replace it.
|
I dont know about any warantee. i bought it off another dood, and messed a bit of it up, i had to take it apart to fix it, but i know i put it back together just fine. I screwed something in too far the first time, which prevented it from regulating. so i fixed that, and it leaks. So i'm just gonna buy a nwe one i think.
|
I'd get a new one... who knows if something was bent when those things were screwed in there... That and, well, it's leaking!!!
|
what about thread tape?
|
Mine wont allow me to adjust the regulation either. Don't know if mines messed up too. I got the same one as you iotus. Good thing is, wherever its stuck at, its at the right place.
|
Get a new one and stop the agony! I like the thread tape idea though.
|
i bet gasoline would desinigrate thread tape
-greg |
Lets try, Ill put some in a bucket of gas. Held up good for a oil cooler I had once.
|
oil does not eat shit like gas does though.......
test it and get back to us -greg |
I'm using thread tape on the fittings in my regulator, works great, doesn't get eaten away. But on the top part, don't put thread tape or anything on there, there's no way it should leak from there. I'm using that same regulator on mine and it works perfect. The top part is just the adjustment screw, I don't think gas should even be in that part. I've screwed that all the way off while the car was running and nothing came out of the top. You're regulator is fucked :)
