MSD 6al install question

Hey my fellow ROTORHEADS, I was wondering if anyone can tell me the best way to install 2 msd 6al on to a 12a engine with road race headers, racingbeat holley setup,RB spark plug wires and 2 blaster3 coils? I keep getting mixed info on this install and I want to know what is the best application for my stock engine. Someone told me that the 3 coil setup was the best , using 2 coils for leading spark plugs and 1 coil for trailing spark plugs. I also need to know if the 6AL"s should be set up for 8cyl, 6cyl or 4cyl. Thanks in advance for any help I can get on this subject.

Using 2 coils for the leading is not the best setup. You either split the voltage or you split the current to the coils. bad in both setups. Search my threads there is plenty of info on how to setup a MSD. Use a 2nd gen leading coil with the first box for the leading and run the second box through the cap.

Or since you already have 2 MSD boxes adn coils just run both through the cap. You'll go through cap and rotors in 15,000 miles instead of 25k, but it'll work great and it's an easy way to set it up.
