Mods not recommended for a street car

What's your advice on mods NOT to do to a nice daily driver street car.

I know alot of engine mods trade low-end for top-end. This is great for race cars, but not street cars.

Lots of suspension mods can make for a shopping-cart quality ride. I've heard shock/strut upgrades in particular, and urethane bushings.

I agree about keeping low end for a street car. Also don't change the exhaust unless you either buy an RB setup, which is quiet enough for daily driving and flows enough for engine power mods, or know what you're doing and fab your own exhaust out of thickwall pipe and use rotary-capable muffling components such as Borla Pro-XS or RB presilencer with PowerPulse main muffler. Eveything else will drone/ring/rattle or die quickly and generally sound pretty pathetic (in my opinion).

My S model has Koni shocks and stock springs which haven't sagged yet. It doesn't require the use of a kidney belt, and handles fine for me at this time. I'd like to get some RB springs at some point and maybe upgrade the shocks to adjustables so I can control how stiff it is.

To heavy of a pressure plate and a springless clutch can hurt smooth gear shifting on a street car... although I got used to mine quick. Good pedals became important especially on a rainy day.

If this is a cali street car, you basically can't do much engine wise unless you have a means of smogging it.

A true free flowing exhaust on a rotary does not belong on the street, lol i know from first hand experience
