Mix n Match oil coolers... Thread pitch on lines?

Quick question... Are the thread pitches for the Turbo II, N/A 2nd gen, GSL-SE and Pre '83 oil coolers the same?

Lookin to get some line sometime soon... Going into an 85 12A in the GSL-SE location... Probably gonna be using that same bracket, so I'm probably going to get GSL-SE or 2nd Gen lines... Whichever is longer... Or I could get some custom made if I could find a hydraulics shop around here...

They are NOT pipe thread. They are metric machine thread. All the coolers have the same dia fittings IIRC its 16mm. Rear housing on 12A's are 18mm, front cover is 16mm.

Some useful info here.

Well after re-reading mazdatrix's page it looks like this

Front Cover (all) and 74-85 Oil Cooler = 16mm

Rear Housing of Engine also fits 86-92 Coolers = 18mm

Well the fittings are also in a different place on an FC cooler.

The second gen has them in the end. Correct? What has to be done to use a second gen cooler? Just use the lines that come with it?

By the Way I just hit 100 posts.

One is on the end like an FB cooler, but the other is on the top of the end tank. I bought the metric to AN adapters and made my own lines and custom frame mount.

I dont think theyll work sorry. Find a cooler that fits your lines. What cooler do you have now? And what radiator? Is it 79-82 style? or 84-85 GSL-SE style?
