mirrors

I have a question why do old japanese sports cars have the mirrors on the front fenders is there any advantages to that and why dont't they still do it just a question I don't have an answear for.

If there was an advantage to it, everyone would be doing it. I can't imagine any reason for it, other than the angles -- you don't have to look as far to the side. Used to be, new car designs in Japan had to be approved by the government, and maybe they thought it was safer.

Well with the mirror on the fender, you have less of a "blind-spot" since it basically covers the whole length of the car. However, they couldn't use the magnifying mirror (the ones that say on them object in the mirror appear closer) and also it wasn't really friendly with aerodynamics.

It was for safety reasons. Thats why cars in Japanese driving schools and alot of cabs still use fender mirrors.
