Miata Wheels

I was looking at an M2's wheels the other day. The 16s look really nice. Do the M2s have the same bolt pattern as the 1 gen RX7, 4 x 110 MM? Has anyone put those wheels on an RX7? If so it would be cool to see pics.
:batman:

Miatas have 4x100.

More Power 03-15-02 11:52 AM

Oh.

yayarx7 03-15-02 03:53 PM

nothing has 4x110 exept RWD GLC's and ooold 626's as well as the pre-7 rotarys

Smeagol 03-15-02 05:08 PM

I've heard some Mustang and Peugot wheels may fit the 4x110mm bolt pattern but have never bothered trying.

82transam 03-15-02 05:53 PM

yea next to nothing fits 4x110 mm bolt pattern.

85RX7GS 03-15-02 06:48 PM

You'd be suprised. Most Mazdas from the 1st gen era have the same bolt pattern, between the years of 1980-1983. The SE had a different wheel altogether. Also, the Volkswagon Fox uses the same bolt pattern as do some years of the Pontiac GrandAM. Check out Toyota and Mitsubishi as well. I'm pretty sure they also made wheels with the same pattern during the early 80's.

peejay 03-16-02 02:18 AM

No Mustangs, no Peugeots have 4x110. All Mustangs were 4x4.5 or 5x4.5. (110mm is almost exactly 4 1/3")

The ONLY non-Mazda to have 4x110 were some very early Corollas with 12" wheels.

(I don't know where the Peugeot idea came from, other than some Peugeot 505s have 4x140 bolt pattern, the same as old-school Subarus. *Nobody* makes 4x140 wheels)

Where do you guys go to buy aftermarket wheels?

Depends on what you want. There isn't much fo rthe 4x110's except Panasports, Kosei K1's, ROH Snypers, and whatever old school mesh rims you can run across used.

You can also get Simmons rims, sourced from Austrailia. I plan to dump my Panasports and get a set one of these years. :)

Don't forget Diamonds :D They're not approved for street use tho, but they say you shouldn't have any problem on the street if you only use them to go to and from the track.

I didn't figure he'd be running any road courses any time soon :)

RotorMotorDriver 03-16-02 04:05 AM

No track use, I was actually looking at something more along the lines of TSW, Konig, OZ, you know the type, multi or five spoke types, maybe spider type rims, you know the "ricer" Honda type :(. Think what you would like about my decision, but I think that they are nice rims, and they just have a bad rep from the ricer crowd.

PS - Could I just order them with the custom pattern (4x110) drilled into them? Anyone ever heard of this? And the GSL does have the 4x110 right? and the SE has the 4x100?

peejay 03-16-02 05:15 AM

The -SE has 4 on 4.5" (or 4x114.3 if you prefer) not the way-tiny 4x100.

yayarx7 03-16-02 01:43 PM

some wheel manufacturers will let you order them with a custom bolt pattern but you will PAY$$. HRE, Fisk, Simmons, ect.

the kosei k1 are "modern" or kinda ricey if you will, as are the roh snypers.

if you are into the older hot rod look, big daddy billets has 17" and 18" 4x110, I have seen these on a rx-3 and guess that they would fit the seven.

THANKS YAYA!! A few of those Bid Daddy's are decent, and those last few are pretty nice, much appreciated. Thanks again.

I really like this design, can't wait to get them on the car.

Felix Wankel 03-16-02 08:57 PM

I like those too, considering I own a set :)

yayarx7 03-17-02 03:21 PM

I got pics of big daddy's, 18 I think, on a rx-3.

Thats a disgrace.

I agree... that RX-3 just looks WRONG... the wheels are SO out of proportion to the car (big wheels do not mix with short wheelbase/tall greenhouse!) and it looks like they clearanced the front fender with a pair of pliers. Sad sad sad... :(

yayarx7 03-18-02 01:55 AM

He is selling it for like 8 grand. and I thought it looked freakin cool.
