Who said a rotary is only good for racing? =)

I don't race my car... or even street race...
(until I put a bigger engine in sometime in the next year ;))

I think it'd just be cool to have the 'rotary sound'.... Man I love that sound. That's what hooked me on the car originally =)

Miata's make great race cars :)

i know, my dads building his miata for racing, but theres still just something different, i cant really describe it.

=)

I love the first and second gears on stock miatas.... Feels like a better ratio then the first couple in my 7...

Does anyone know how they compare to 7s weight-wise?

(mmm.... Picture that "Rotary Engine" logo on the back of a miata... ;))

The fact that the female species have ruined the car by inheriting it as their own, enabling only men comfortable with their sexuality to drive it?

I thought so.

I still think the miata should have been rotary from the start, then only REAL car enthusiasts would be able to handle it :D

Sk8r_dude 07-11-03 01:33 PM

oh, i have no problem driving that car! i love it. anyone who calls it a chick car hasn't driven it. i love it, but i love my rex more.

Gatorgunner 07-11-03 01:40 PM

i had a miata for a while, and yeah ok it might be a chick car, but that also works in another way. If a dude is driving it, chicks want him too!
I cant count how many chicks wanted a ride.

I dont mean to hijack this thread but what do you think of doing a rotory 914?

AdrenalifeRX7 07-11-03 01:44 PM

My original idea was to buy another FB and transplant a Miata motor and use it as a daily driver. Just to experiment, not to advocate the piston motor in an RX7 movement. I'd use my turbo 7 for when I want to have fun.

No man, definitely do it the other way =)

Can't be too expensive to pickup an early model miata with a blown engine and to find a rusted FB with a decent-condition 12A in it...

roadsters are all about power vs weight....the 13B is probaly a good 200lbs lighter than the miatas inline four...meaning the suspension can work better and the car is more nimble...i think the rotary engine is the ideal choice for any car. i have often thought about making a mid engine car out of a rotary engine.

That's illegal...but we live in NY and where I live (in between Rochester and Syracuse) I don't have to pass emissions if I'm lucky and go to certain places.

How's it illegal to buy two cars, and swap engines?

:scratch::scratch:

Jon

Enigma was stating that I could find a Miata with a blown engine and swap a 12a into it if I'm correct. It's illegal in every state to swap an older engine into a newer car, but most of us get away with it.
