nooo. damn that sucks. im very glad to see youve chosen to save the car rather than ditch it.

capn 06-18-07 06:14 PM

EEEk! at least your wings ok :p

trochoid 06-18-07 06:47 PM

Oh shit, man I feel for you. I got a taste of what you're going through June 3rd on the way to the Iowa rotary meet. I had a choice of rear ending a nearly stopped semi at 60 mph, or taking to the grass on the right hand shoulder. Took the grass and ended up taking out the front air dam on the widebody.

Don't give up, with the skills you've shown building the car in the first place, I'm positive you can repair this damage. V8 or not, you've been an inspiration to many on what can be done modding a 1st gen, now you have a chance to build it even better.

Good luck with the rebuild, keep us posted.

wow man .. wouldn't be cheaper just to start a full shell as oppose to doing the whole front end (cutting and welding it?)

Dan_s_young 06-18-07 07:29 PM

I'd say with all the fabrication he has in the rear of the car, it would be worth fixing since you do have the skills to do so. I have complete faith that you can get this thing back on the track!

It sucks, it seems like everyone is crashing this year...

With the cage and rear end I probably have over 200 hours in the car from the firewall back. It would easily take 4 months and over $3000 to build the car again with the parts I have. Compared to 6 weeks and less than $1000, it's smarter to replace the front clip. If the rear is tweaked the car will probably be a total loss. Time will tell.

Not bad for 6 hours of work. Now all the hard stuff.

And since I haven't posted it yet, here's the angle I backed into the wall at...

Been there done that.

Wonderful journey you've taken with this car . . .

You'll get that front clip done in no time.

Hope you get it back together. Just read this for the first time, i'm not a piston fan. Specially in a rex but it's cool to see what you've done. Mad respect man,

Hyper4mance2k 11-21-10 04:32 PM

Alex_n/a 11-21-10 10:35 PM

well i hope his ok. i find it hard to believe someone would put this much work and just abandoned it. unless he had to move on.

Jibaro 12A 11-22-10 05:06 PM
