Mazda tested it over 20 years ago in their R16.
its been done since in New Zealand and theUK. Even tried 6 rotor!

Why reinvent it all over again.

Now if you tried an 8 rotor that would be impressive.

Forgive me, please, but what does the "E" in e-shaft mean, Engine?

eccentric, the rotary equivalent of a crankshaft

It's the main shaft for the engine.

Now that that's settled, what does the "O" in O-ring mean? :p:

It can be O shaped and some people say it means oil.
