Lug Studs

I had my left rear wheel lose it's lug bolts (3, then 2) twice at autocross today. Even when torqued to 100 ft-lbs they came off. Has anyone threaded in some 12 x 1.5 mm studs into their hubs to make some normal studded hubs? What about drilling them out and using some knurled press-fit studs?

It's pretty common to replace the bolts with screw in studs. Just secure them with a bit of loctite.

I've looked EVERYWHERE and can't find a store to carry them. Even giant harware stores don't have 12 x 1.5 studs. I was told by a CarQuest guy over the phone that he can order some Monday, but that's the closest I've come yet. Is there any place that's got them that I'm not thinking of?

Shipping is $12 so you might want to go in with a buddy, but it's still cheaper than Mazdaspeed (formerly Mazdacomp) which you do have to be a racer to order parts from. I think I'll order myself a set of their studs and nuts today for my newest seven that's still using the lug bolt system.
