low pressure regulator
I have a 12a with the stock carb. I am putting in a Carter fule pump with the Holley low pressure regualtor.
Is it OK to mount the reg. under the hood somewhere so that it is easy to get at as I will have to adjust it. I searched about 30 threads but not addressed the location of the reg. so I apoligize in advance if I missed the thread. |
I'd say it's ok to mount it under the hood.
|
yes. very common to mount it on the firewall right before the carb,
|
I installed the same setup about 3 months ago that you are doing. I have mine installed under the hood close to the firewall and it works fine.
|
Just keep it away from the exhaust and there will be no problems
|
I'll chime in too. Pump should be mounted paying attention to the arrow on it. The reg should be close to the carb. Under the hood, mounted to the firewall is the best place.

where is the best place to mount the pump?
|
Great question!

Where to mount the Mallory Comp110....truly one of the more perplexing problems a rex'r will encounter...:p:

which holly regulator that you guys use?? the one can adjust from 4psi~9psi??
|
Only place I've found that works is on the frame rail or floorpan where it slopes upwards just forward of the axle. Mallory............pfft......... :D

I have a Carter fuel pump which is 7 psi. The Holley is a 1-4 PSI Part # 12-804. At least that is the # if you order from Summit. I still have the Nikki carb with all rat's nest removed.

The two bottom pieces are the standard regulator...why would anyone want anything else unless it was Aeromotive or BG??
