Louvers
Anyone know where one can find louvers for the rear hatch?

Thanks for that link...
I personally already have a very nice set of louvres for my 1984 GLS, and I wasn't aware Victoria British LTD was working with the RX-7's.
They have VERY nice catalogs, and I was able to order TONS of items for my 1971 MGB roadster. I would strongly have to recommend everyone order their free RX7 catalog from them......you won't be disappointed. Here is a picture of my louvres: http://publish.hometown.aol.com/xxxh...s/mvc-021s.jpg http://publish.hometown.aol.com/xxxh...s/mvc-022s.jpg |
I've got a set of factory louvers that I'll sell you or anyone else who's interested.

It's the rear piece only.
|
hmmm, got any pictures from another angle? (I'm actually trying to get a good look at the spoiler =X )
|
I'll post some more spoiler pics as soon as it turns to daylight out here. It's not even 7am yet....
|
Ok, 8:18am...enough light
|
So much for loading those 4 pics......Ill try again....

i like that louvre but you need to lose the chrome wheelwell flares...it's only hurting the nice look.
|
You're the 12893712938723rd person who has said I should lose them, but they really do look alot better in person.
When I saw pics of the car, before buying it, I thought they looked pretty tacky, but they really do look good when you're looking at the car in person. But then again, no matter what was on the car, there would always be somebody who doesn't like it. |
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know why the badging is on different sides of the car sometimes? For instance, his "GSL" is on the right side...Most that I see are on the left with the "Mazda" on the right. However, there are a few where its on the "wrong" side. Anyone know?

Anyone know? ~T.J. xxxHondaGuyxxx, what's your rear visability like with that spoiler? And have you considered replacing your exhaust tips with ones that are slightly larger and centered in the openings? I think that would make your rear clip look pretty snazzy. Nice car :bigthumb: |
Yeah...
I'm planning on replacing the tips when I find something suitable....
It is an actual dual exhaust setup, which was surprising. And, one side is out of whack, because it's sort of just balancing there. I think whoever welded, did a crap job, it appears to be separated right before a bolt up connection near the rear axle. So yeah, thats one of the next projects. I suppose I'll have to deal with the limiting size of the fascia holes.....but, I'll live. |
Oh......and visibility sucks. What you see from the back view of the car, I see in the rear view mirror.
I can see what I need to, when backing up, so its not that bad. The curved up top of the wing, takes out one louver space in the mirror. |
Really? The visibility with my louvers on is not bad at all. Your louvers must be noticably thicker.
|
I practically tried to give a set away for free a while back :wtf: LOL
|
will anyone sell or "give" me a set of side louvers not the big one but the small side window ones!!!!!

Ouch! That's horrible!
|
In addition to the spoiler, your louvers are thicker on the horizontal plane if you know what I mean. The Mazda aluminum louvers are only like three millimeters thick when viewed through the rear view mirror. I have them on my car and the rear visability is only acutely affected - I don't even notice their presence from that vantage point. I like 'em, but lots of people don't...whatever.

I've got the metal rear louvers, the ones lotsacars is talking about. The only real problem visibility is the small strip down the middle that supports 'em and on the very edges, they kinda bunch up and turn solid. The other problem with 'em, the bonehead that had the car before me stripped the screwheads out on 'em and there's no way to tighten or loosen them now. Damn things rattle and buzz like crazy over bumps or when I crank the stereo up...
