louver mounting hardware.
 

I picked up a set of louvers for dirt cheap off of someone, but I have no clue what the mounting hardware should look like. I am just looking for maybe some pictures of what the mounting hardware looks like for louvers on a 1st gen. I have looked at many pictures of louvers on first gens and not really found anything clear enough to work with. If anybody could help, that would be awesome. :D

On my car, the louvers bolt to brackets which are sandwiched between the hinges at the top of the hatch and the lower lift arm attachment points.

The louvers I had arranged to purchase from CL, which the seller then sold from under me...lame, were missing the lower window mounting hardware. Being unfamiliar with louvers, I wasn't sure if all lower hardware was the same. From the pictures the seller sent me it appears the lowers posted above would work.

It's not of importance for me now, but just for future reference, do all louvers offered for our cars use the same mounting techniques?

Same idea, different bracket sizes. Mine are quite a bit more compact that the ones shown above. I didn't get a chance to snap some pictures yet, but I should get to it tonight.

Awesome. Thanks very much guys. So another question. How are the brackets held on? Are they clipped or glued? Maybe they are just held in place by the tension of the louvers?

The upper brackets are held on by the hinge and press over the glass on top.

The lower are held on with the lift mount.

Right. Here are the brackets for my Chastain Shadow louvers:

The top mounts have a hinge so you can remove the nut on the bottom, lift up the louvers and clean underneath without removing the whole unit.

Man, my car is dirty. It snowed and got super cold before I could wash it. Now it's dirty and alone, waiting in my garage for spring. :(

My brackets also had double sided tape holding them to the glass. It was a real pain in the you-know-what to remove when I got rid of my louvers and brackets.

I didn't realize there were two styles. Learn something new every day.

Hey guys I got super busy over the past month. Thanks a ton for all of this info and the pictures. I hope this is extremely helpful to someone or another. and as far as I know there are 4 different brands of louvers available for the 1st gen. they may all have different mounting hardware.
